I close-voted mainly because of the request for OpenOffice plugins. But I'm not sure the rest of the question has enough meat on it anyway. I edited the question to be about grammar and the English language rather than software. Add a comment. Active Oldest Votes. However, one could certainly imagine this discussion: Me: You have a restricted diet, what protein can you have?
You: I can have fish. Me: And beef? You: Yes, even with dairy; I can have cheeseburger. It is true that I can have approval, or I can have disapproval. Improve this answer.
Fraser Orr Fraser Orr It wouldn't sound contrived at all with "I can have cheeseburgers. Note that "I can have hamburger" is totally acceptable and unremarkable. Apparently when one adds cheese, hamburger becomes countable. I am not aware of an uncountable definition for cheeseburger. In my mind, a cheeseburger is a hamburger with a slice of cheese. That said, it's a bit of a grey area — as grey as the inside of a medium-well burger fresh off the grill.
If you were serving me one, I'd let you call it anything you wanted! And you could imagine McDonalds having a yard of cheeseburger in the kitchen, cutting off a slice for every order. Note to lawyers: a point about grammar, not defamation of your fine restaurants. Show 5 more comments. Chris H Chris H However, you can enjoy that same burger, made with lean beef, topped with the proper serving of avocado, and a low-fat cheese. You see, most people are eating their heart-healthy, "good for you" fats but also eating full-fat beef burgers without even thinking about it.
Still other people eat their burgers without a bun because they've sworn off carbs. Eat a lean beef burger on a whole grain bun with avocado on top and you've got nothing to worry about.
You've created the taste you crave while eating things you can feel great about -- and you will still lose weight! One of the biggest questions when buying ground beef for burgers or any other dish is how much fat you should choose, says Shena Jaramillo, RD , a dietitian in Ellensburg, Washington. According to the American Heart Association , higher levels of LDL cholesterol increase your risk of heart disease and stroke. This is because the ground meat is most likely 80 percent lean or less, Hoch says.
Making your own burger at home, where you can choose lean beef and control what goes into it, can cut down on both saturated fat and calories, Hoch adds, suggesting you aim for 90 to 95 percent lean.
When it comes to the bread sandwiching your burger, highly processed white-bread buns with enriched flour are a popular choice but not the best one, says Jaramillo. These buns contain a lot of calories and carbs and could contribute to a quick rise in blood sugar without offering the same benefits as a whole-grain option. Plus, many of these breads contain high-fructose corn syrup. At home, you can make a healthier choice by opting for a whole-wheat bun, notes Jaramillo. Whole grains that are minimally processed can give you fiber and other nutrients, she says.
